We have compiled a summary of changes as well as available options within the individual marketplace effective January 1st, 2019.

Remember, the deadline to make plan changes for a January 1, 2019 effective date is December 15th.
- BCBSIL is no longer offering Platinum level plans on the healthcare.gov online insurance marketplace. Blue Precision Platinum HMO 104 is the only platinum plan available in Illinois and offered off-exchange.
- BlueChoice Preferred PPO - offers a respectable PPO network of doctors and hospitals and the convenience of never needing a referral to see a specialist
- Blue Precision HMO Plans - One the largest HMO networks in Illinois is becoming the most popular option for 2019 plan choices, it also is the only network that includes NorthShore University hospital--just be sure to select your PCP.
- BlueCare Direct - Provides access to Advocate Health Care's vast network of 4,000+ doctors and 11 hospitals in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake and Will counties.
- Blue FocusCare - New 2018 plans with a micro HMO and reduced costs for Cook county residents.
- Especially for Chicago residents, Blue Cross Blue Shield has the best network available in 2018.

- HumanaOne will not be offering individual plans in most Chicago area counties
- Humana will only be available to central Illinois residents
- Humana Doctor Finder

- United HealthOne will no longer be offering individual ACA health insurance plans in 2017, so you will need to select a new plan.
- United HealthOne will only be offering short-term plans. These plans are a cheaper alternative to the more expensive ACA individual plans but are subject to the ACA penalty

- Ambetter is offering HMO plans on the healthcare.gov online insurance marketplace
- Ambetter DOES include Mt. Sinai Hospital, but has limited hospital coverage throughout the Chicago region
- These are low-cost plans for people looking for minimum or catastrophic coverage

- Best value outside the Chicago area (not available everywhere)
