Unfortunately, yes.
When you purchase health insurance, your premium price is locked in for the current year but may increase on your birthday by the price of being 1 year old than at the time of enrollment. At the end of your term or during open enrollment, you will have the option of renewing your plan to extend your coverage for another year. You may also switch to a different carrier and/or plan during the next individual open enrollment cycle.
It's worthwhile to look around again for different options each year during open enrollment, insurance companies are free to raise premiums and modify their plan offering each year. Also, new options may be available on the market that better fit your needs.
