Open Enrollment 2027 Key Dates

The dates for Open Enrollment can be a little confusing, so below is a breakdown of key dates for Open Enrollment 2027.

The Marketplace Open Enrollment Period generally runs from November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027.

Consumers who enroll by midnight on December 15, 2026 (5 a.m. EST on December 16) can get full-year coverage that starts January 1, 2027.

January 1, 2027 start date – ENROLL BY DECEMBER 15, 2026.

February 1, 2027 start date – ENROLL BY JANUARY 15, 2027.

A note on state-based Marketplaces: some states run their own exchange and set their own deadlines. Illinois (Get Covered Illinois) follows the January 15 deadline. California, New Jersey, New York and Washington, D.C. run through January 31. Idaho ends December 15 and Rhode Island ends December 31. If you live in one of those states, check your state exchange for the exact cutoff.
